Lead Speaker: Matthew Cochran

Background
As the Technical Director of the URMC FCR, I manage the day-to-day operations of the facility to maintain the highest level of instrument performance and stability..

In addition to maintaining the physical tools for our investigators, I also work directly with the researchers to push their use of flow cytometry further. I oversee the education and training of all new users as well as more experienced users that are moving toward a new technique or instrument. My 18 years of experience in using flow cytometry in a wide variety of applications and fields allows me to assist investigators in planning and carrying out their projects.

I approach my position with a dedication to setting up efficient and robust practices toward the first goal of providing high functionality and stability of operations, which in turn allows the facility to spend more time working with our research colleagues and clinical trials collaborators on advancing their science using flow cytometry.
